Check the seller before paying
Use an independently obtained business contact, relevant registry information, and the actual checkout hostname. Consistent identity evidence helps a review but cannot guarantee a merchant’s future conduct. A site’s visual quality and HTTPS alone are insufficient.
Payment and transaction warning signals
Pause when a seller changes payment instructions through an unexpected message or asks for an irreversible method outside the established transaction. Confirm a change through a known contact. Review published delivery and customer-service information and keep a copy of the transaction evidence.
Reviews and next steps
Treat copied praise, missing detail and unexplained inconsistencies as questions to investigate rather than fabricated fraud scores. A fictional store with an unchanged page but a new payee needs separate verification. If money or credentials were already sent, contact the payment provider or responsible account team through official channels and preserve evidence.
